An electric bike without pedals is not a bike.
Isn't that just an electric moped?
A moped is lighter than a motorcycle but still heavier than an eBike.
It's usually designed with a step-thru frame and a foot platform.
I'm thinking of a lightweight electric bike that's easy to ride, maneuverable but with foot pegs instead of pedals.
Think of a Super73 ZX without pedals.
A moped style throttle only eBike with pedals.
I'm not sure what you call it, but it sounds cool.
It's a micro eBike throttle only without pedals, that looks really uncomfortable for riding any length of time.
This is not what I'm talking about.
Actually, if it's registered, you could build a street legal eBike with more power.
Enough power to keep up with city traffic.
I don't know of one... yet!
I'm a throttle first eBike rider that likes to cruise and enjoy the ride.
If I do ride in the city or go to town, I'd feel safer being able to keep up with the traffic, instead of dodging the parked cars in the bike lane.
That is If there are any bike lanes.
I don't need to go highway speeds.
I do occasionally carry some cargo or maybe another passenger so torque is important.
Getting rid of the gears, chain and pedals takes away the most complex part of an eBike.
It eliminates parts and weight.
It also allows for a simple frame design.
Not that changing gears is hard, but it's the idea that you just hop on, twist the throttle and go.
